French science fiction in the vein of "La jetée" by Chris Marker, trippy screenplay where the author Alain Resnais is making a veiled reference to Boris Vian's "L'écume des jours". "Je t'aime je t'aime" is a masterpiece for mental high diggers, dear to Williams Burroughs, the author uses the cut-up technic and send us on a trip in time, which confront the martian viewpoint of a woman and the strict reality of a man. They both fascinate and oppose each other, a love story fated to death. We notice Marie-Blanche Vergne, Jean-Christophe Averty's wife, in a short apparition, aparently very stoned! Ironically, this film, dedicated to youth, did not reach its audience (too busy throwing stones at this time ? - Mai 68 revolution). Not-seen and unknown for a very long time, this movie exists on DVD since few years. Watch the movie here: link |
