Je t'aime je t'aime

1968 movie from France, by Alain Resnais

"Mental high 68"

French science fiction in the vein of "La jetée" by Chris Marker, trippy screenplay where the author Alain Resnais is making a veiled reference to Boris Vian's "L'écume des jours". "Je t'aime je t'aime" is a masterpiece for mental high diggers, dear to Williams Burroughs, the author uses the cut-up technic and send us on a trip in time, which confront the martian viewpoint of a woman and the strict reality of a man. They both fascinate and oppose each other, a love story fated to death. We notice Marie-Blanche Vergne, Jean-Christophe Averty's wife, in a short apparition, aparently very stoned! Ironically, this film, dedicated to youth, did not reach its audience (too busy throwing stones at this time ? - Mai 68 revolution). Not-seen and unknown for a very long time, this movie exists on DVD since few years.
